These were taken with my Nikon point and shoot last summer. DH and I went on a evening cruise that was sponsered by my union. I did play with the photos in PSE 4. No cc necessary. I just like the photos and we had a good time.

These are some of the palms that were passed out at my church this past Sunday before our annual Palm Sunday parade. I do know that in the second photo that palms look soft and that the focus is on the pews. But I love the detail that shows up in the pews so I still like the picture. CC welcome!!

I saw this little alter girl this past Sunday and just had to take her picture. Many, many moons ago I was an altar girl (Alcolyte as we called them) at the church I grew up attending. Bethel African Methodist Espiscopal Church.
I loved being an alcolyte and have always enjoyed serving in church. The lighting in this room is horrible so I did the best I could. CC welcome!!!

My husband made a red velvet cake a couple of days ago and this is the result. For some reason I can't get him to wait until the cake cools down to frost it. But he did pretty it up with the edible flowers. The cake tasted good too!!!

I took this in raw and I used my 50.mm lens. I fixed the white balance and played with the levels to brighten it up. I ran noiseware and sized it for the web.
Sorry I have'nt been around hubby came down with a double ear infection right after he made this cake. Thanks for looking!!!

Ok we peas love our KitchenAid mixers!!!! I love to bake, in fact my Father was a baker for almost 40 years, so I get it honest. When I get the urge I can throwdown in the kitchen. ( But it is all about getting the urge. ;-) )

This mixer is also notable to me because it is the first thing I ever purchased off of Ebay.

I have'nt been updating in a while because I have been so frustrated with my editing software PSE 4. I could not get the RAW plug-in to work for nothing!!! I downloaded Adobe CS2 and Lightroom to see if I would have any better luck with them and I have!!! This photo is a combo of this weeks theme and last week. This is a picture of my parents out on a date 50 years ago. The photo behind them to the left is a picture of my Grandparents, my Father's parents taken in 1918 right after they left Alabama and moved to Delaware. The photo to the right is my great-aunt Lexanna and I believe that photo was taken here in Detroit. As far as this weeks theme. One of the items that make my life easier is picture frames . I love having them all over the house, with pictures of people and places and stuff.

Ok first I wanna say that editing this picture made me a RAW convert. I took this picture in jpeg and when I was editing it I did not get the same results that I believe I would have gotten had I taken it in RAW. Ok another thing I love is scrapbooking and Saturday I had a scrapbook program at my job. It was really cool, and I had a lot of participation and interest. This is a page I made from the photos I took at the scrapbook program I had in January. Oh and I don't claim to be Donna Downey or Ali Edwards, I just have basic scraping skills and I like to share what I know with the community where I work.

I took this photo in early January, when my Sony was still brand new. I did not have my other two lenses yet so this was shot with the kit lense. Know that I have been reading and learning so much from you guys I can see the error of my ways. I did play with the color in pse 4 and I sharpened it twice.
Thanks for looking!!!!

Hi everyone this little guy has a story. I am a librarian and one day someone came in and said they needed a picture of the whole armor of God. First I was like what kinda of crazy question is that? But I did find find a drawing in a book that gave her the information she wanted. The question made me think about what the Whole Aromor of God was and that I needed to have that in my life. So, about a month after that question I found a church to join and have felt that God has really been protecting me since then. A good friend of mine joined the same church I joined and she gave me that bear as a Christmas gift.

Ok, guys I had the hardest time with this. I have been working on this for two days. But I am learning so much that I don't mind. I took these photos in raw and am learning how to work with the editing program. I am using the RAW editing program that came with the camera, I cannot seem to get the RAW to work in PSE 4 so if anyone has any tips on that I would appreciate it. Also had a hard time posting the photos because the files were so large. I know I lost some quality when I made the photo ready for the web. I bought a foam board at Michaels to use as a background and my dining room table cloth. Oh by the way this is a cookie jar that I bought a few years ago, it looks tiny but it is a nice size cookie jar.
Thanks for looking!!!!

Ok guys this is Sarah with her new Addie doll. I ran noiseware, I cropped, and other stuff that I don't remember.
I want to be able to see Addie's face so I lighted up the shadows. Sarah's hands look kinda funny to me. They are much too light and the picture has a pink tinge to it.

I saw this banner downtown while I was taking pictures of Comerica Park. So I thought I would add this too. Steve Yzerman played for the Detroit Red Wings (the hockey team) for years and they won 3 Stanley Cups while he was on the team. He retired this past summer from playing hockey.

I have loved the Detroit Tigers since they won the World Series in 1968 when as my mother says that I and my cousin Angela jumped up and down on our front porch when the won the Series yelling Daddy's "beseball" team won. The love for the Tigers comes honest for me. My Father loves them, his Father loved them and his Father in Law,my Great Grandfather, "Papa" and his son Charlie Sadler loved them too. It didn't even matter that the Tigers were the second to last team in the majors to have a Black player. They just loved the Tigers. For me a Summer evening sitting and listening to a baseball game on the radio is just the best way to relax and enjoy summer. Even when the Tigs were horrible sometimes I just had to turn on the radio and listen to Ernie Harwell and I would know that all was right with the world. My Daddy has always teased me and asked me this question. Are you a Tiger fan or a Tiger fool? And I have to say that after 39 years of Tiger love I guess I have to say that I am a Tiger Fool!!!

Hi everyone. I know this has nothing to do with water. I want to try this photo because I am new to PSE 4 and I wanted to try working with levels and the other functions of PSE 4. Both of these photos needed to be lighted up because the lighting where I took the photos is horrible. I also thought it was a good challenge because the variety of skin tones. Please CC welcome. This post is not about water it is a continuation of the show your hometown theme. I love my hometown so this will be something that I will be doing throughout the year. These are photos of a Church in the middle of Detroit. Two parishes merged about 10 years ago and make up the current parish. Across the street is a church that was formerly a Synagogue. These are all SOOC and CC welcome thanks.
