I saw this little alter girl this past Sunday and just had to take her picture. Many, many moons ago I was an altar girl (Alcolyte as we called them) at the church I grew up attending. Bethel African Methodist Espiscopal Church.
I loved being an alcolyte and have always enjoyed serving in church. The lighting in this room is horrible so I did the best I could. CC welcome!!!

I like what the picture says, but I think I would have moved her more in front of the altar. Also, a full body shot would be good. She is so cute. (miami_mama)

She is a doll! I love the crop on the second picture!! Did you run an defog (20/60/0) on the pic. That might have helped boost your contrast a bit.

She's adorable...and kind, to allow you to take her picture. It looks like her face is in shadows. Next time try turning her towards the light, or moving your body so as not to cast a shadow. Also, meter off her face.

I never had the chance to be an alter server. I grew up in the Catholic church before girls were allowed to serve. I always wanted to serve.

Not bad lighting at all really...pretty bright.

I think this one could be a great candidate for BnW...sometimes bright photos look good when converted.

Very sweet sentiments, probably brought back lots of memories for you.

isn't it cool the way photos can trigger our childhood memories?
I like the closeup of the hands best.

Hmm I wonder what the word Bethel means...I must go and look it up.
I went to Bethel college in Kansas but there were very very few African Americans!! LOl!
